Job Description

Our client has been a leader in the consumer goods industry for over one hundred years and headquartered in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area.   They are known for strong brands, unique designs and an extensive assortment of product offerings.  We have recently been retained as they have created an upgraded Quality Management role who will be tasked with revamping and leading the quality management function.  He/She will define quality requirements and will develop & implement quality management systems and best practices.  Our ideal candidate will have experience establishing and/or enhancing TQM, Supplier Quality and Quality performance metrics.   


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience and accomplishments in quality management
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and sustaining quality management systems across global manufacturing supply chains
  • Experience in the consumer goods industry with preferred experience working with custom finished product
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and retain top talent
  • Self-starter and self-directed, sets a leadership example for continuous improvement
  • Experience defining supplier quality and capability requirements and establishing supplier qualification criteria for international, 3rd party suppliers
  • Extensive knowledge of quality management systems and tools such as NPD/NPI quality planning, APQP, product quality risk analysis, design validation, process validation, test development, PPAP
  • Experience in implementing QMS software
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% the first year (travel will level set at ~25% thereafter)
