For over 50 years our client has been a leading chemical manufacturer, formulator and service provider offering turn-key liquid and dry solid compounding, toll manufacturing, and private branding services for the Energy, Industrial, Agriculture and Cleaning markets, among others. Our client occupies 58 acres with three production facilities located in the Houston Texas area.

Sales / Business Development Manager

The Sales / Business Development Manager is responsible for building and growing new and existing customer relationships. This role will be responsible for representing our client throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively secure new business and product opportunities, with emphasis in the Industrial and/or Technical specialty chemical market
  • Implement and assist in developing marketing and sales strategies in target markets
  • Develop, maintain, strengthen and grow relationships with existing customers
  • Identify and call on new customers to offer a wide arrangement of products and services to identify business diversification opportunities
  • Maintain current records and documentation for all customer related items within ERP system and CRM system
  • Work alongside customer service team to ensure streamlined ordering process
  • Maintain a deep personal desire to consistently exceed sales goals and emphasizing profitable growth

Qualifications:

  • Experience in chemical specialty blending and chemical packaging sales
  • Experience in the Industrial specialty chemical blending and/or Technical specialty chemical blending markets
  • Established network of contacts to develop a book of business
  • Strong sales and negotiating experience
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products & ERP Systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry related field preferred
  • Ability to travel 50%
