The Lucas Group is searching for a talented, experienced and enthusiastic Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) for our client’s B2B SaaS products and services team in the D.C. metro-area.  You will join a passionate and talented team of experts working tirelessly to make truth, trust, and safety accessible to every man, woman, and child on Earth via our network of intelligence analysts and licensed investigators.

The Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) will report to our C-level product executive and will have full autonomy to generate leads and acquire accounts at scale while optimizing for LTV:CAC ratio. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys taking a scientific / quant approach to lead generation and customer acquisition and who loves to try out creative out-of-the-box growth tactics or hacks while also running the playbook of tried and true techniques. As the Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) you will solely lead and build marketing plans consisting of multi-touch, multi-dimensional programs including both inbound and outbound tactics as well as managing 3rd party vendors to meet pipeline requirements of account segments.


  • Own B2B lead generation and customer acquisition across the entire company.
  • Fully responsible for planning, organizing and executing programs that generate new prospects and advance existing opportunities for the B2B sales teams within specific, targeted accounts and contacts.
  • Own the Account Based Marketing (ABM) practice as a whole across the entire company.
  • Develop 1:1, and 1: few tactics designed to penetrate targeted accounts.
  • Constantly try new and creative tactics/hacks that may or may not have ever been done before.
  • Fully own ad creative, copy, assets and landing pages so that you are fully empowered and unhindered to succeed in your job.
  • Optimize conversion rates at all times.
  • Run lots and lots of A/B tests.
  • Manage your own pre-defined budget with full autonomy.
  • Identify, engage or hire any and all resources needed to be successful.
  • Identify, purchase, or subscribe to any and all tools, products and services needed to be successful.
  • Report frequently to CEO and C-level product exec using actual data to compile unit economics and cohort analysis overall and by channel, campaign, tactic.
  • Liason between marketing and inside, partner, and field sales teams.


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or comparable education/experience
  • 8+ years’ experience in a high-tech SaaS-based B2B demand generation, ABM, or field marketing role. ABM experience in the legal, finance, or political verticals is a huge plus
  • Proven track record executing innovative and multi-part event and demand generation programs, account-based marketing and large account selling teams
  • Measurable success creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns using tactics that include live events, webinars, digital advertising, PPC, SEO, and social
  • Measurable success building, launching and reporting on campaigns using best-in-bread tools
  • Prior success targeting, segmentation and list acquisition to build prospect lists for demand gen campaigns
  • Strong understanding of how to use inbound marketing and content marketing to generate more qualified leads
  • Familiarity with the technical sales cycle and how to employ marketing communication strategies to nurture leads, drive adoption, and accelerate growth
  • Ability to operate in a fully autonomous manner i.e. to be a 'one woman' or 'one man' show. Should be able to execute unencumbered by dependence on internal copywriters, designers, developers when necessary or prudent
  • Expert in content marketing and content magnets
  • Expert in landing page and conversion rate optimization tactics
  • Data-driven mindset and practitioner of the build -> measure -> learn -> cycle
