Job Description

Lucas Group has partnered with a growing medical device manufacturer, who is looking to bring on a Director of Business Development. As the Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s sales & marketing strategy for their North American market while growing their sales organization. The successful candidate will be able to bring a creative vision and have an entrepreneurial approach to lead the sales & marketing initiatives of the company. We are looking for a candidate who’s had success building consultative relationships with strategic partners and coaching a sales team business development and customer retention strategies.

Education Requirements:

BA/BS Degree or MA/BMS degree



Experience Requirements:

  • Proven success leading a B2B sales team, preferably within the healthcare space
  • Strong people management and people development capabilities (Holding people accountable and being a player-coach
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a complex sales environment (Capital equipment, Medical, Devices, etc.)
  • 2-3 years’ experience managing teams directly (Direct people management)


Responsibilities:

  • Use experience recruit, manage and develop sales team to meet and exceed their individual and team targets
  • Define strategic method for conducting outbound efforts to create new sales opportunities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategy to better connect with customers
  • Ensure sales growth by developing training programs to help hit key objectives by leveraging buying personas, sales nurturing strategies and call cadences
  • Identify and secure sales opportunities through sales visits, phone calls, presentations, conferences and other marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Motivate sales team to exceed objectives through coaching, regular broadcast of results and creative incentives
