Job Description

Lucas Group has been retained by a growing manufacturer of consumer products for the seasonal and hobby categories to identify their next Sales Director to lead the Grocery and Drug retail strategy in North America.

Our client has been designing and manufacturing consumer products for over 50 years. Their in-house design team partners with some of the largest retailers in the world to identify emerging trends for hundreds of new products they bring to market every year. They are a leader in the Hobby, Home Décor and Seasonal categories with a presence in over 50K doors in the US.

Position Summary

As the Director of Sales you will lead the efforts to enhance existing and healthy relationships with Grocery and Drug specialty retailers. You will have the opportunity to take over an existing book of business that has unlimited growth potential as developing new client relationships. Working cross functionally with within the company, you will improve P&L metrics on expanding distribution, winning the shelf, and impulse promotional offerings. If you understand how to partner with a retailer to build strong “win/win” programs through analytical selling methods, this is the opportunity for you.

Skills/Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing accounts with national and regional retailers in the Grocery and/or Drug channels.
  • Track record of successfully building client relationships, working with Planograms and expanding shelf space within existing accounts.
  • Ability to develop new customer relationships and win new accounts.

Primary Location

Must live in the Chicagoland area.
