Job Description

Our Client is a well-known retail brand with aggressive growth plans and the need for a Finance Director to achieve them.  We are seeking a talented financial professional for our Finance Director position located at the corporate offices in West Midtown.  As the Finance Director, you are an integral member of the team reporting to the CEO and the top finance person at the company. In this key role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior management to ensure the company’s short and long-term targets are achieved.  The Finance Director will assist in all aspects of the firm’s financial activities, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and accounting as well as contribute to strategic development. This person will also lead and manage our accounting support team.

Strategy & Operations

  • Collaborate with executive management to provide recommendations that strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long range planning and introduction of new programs and strategies
  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and processes to support the business

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Work with management to set and track business financial targets and goals for each division of the brand 
  • Lead the financial forecasting and budgeting process
  • Analyze data to identify and track key performance indicators, trends and opportunities
  • Identify cash flow optimization strategies and ensure a focus on revenue growth and cost management
  • Support existing and new franchise owners in budgeting, breakeven analysis, and goal setting

Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the month-end close process and provide financial and operational reporting.
  • Design and provide appropriate business analysis and reports used in decision making, ensuring key value drivers are visible and actionable
  • Administer employee benefits, work closely with external auditors and oversee the tax return preparation


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years in corporate finance, public accounting, or corporate accounting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to handle analysis of “big data” and make sense of it through the crafting of stories and actionable insights
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred
  • Experience with accounting reporting and BI tools
  • Franchising experience preferred
  • Consumer goods and/or retail industry experience is a plus
