Job Description

Our client, a renewable energy distribution firm is in need of an Information Security Architect within the area of New Haven, CT.  Candidates need to have experience with Information Technology/Cyber security architecture, design and implementation.  As well as possess a consultative and proactive approach, and be able to engage and lead discussions with managers and other senior technicians within the organization to meet priorities and resolve challenges.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Experience with information security practices related to NERC CIP, PCI, SOX, Application and Network Security.

• Strong understanding of information security standards, frameworks testing tools and methods (NIST, ISO27001, PKI, etc.)

• Experience implementing security at the application and operating system levels

• Experience with security areas such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, continuous security monitoring, centralized log management, network switches, network routers, network design, VPN implementation, TCP/IP communication, Proxy Servers, Reverse Proxy Servers, Wireless Security user authentication, performing information security assessments, computer forensics, anti-virus, patch evaluation, event monitoring systems, and network analysis

• Experience with network configurations e.g. LAN/VLAN/WAN/MAN/WiFi/IPsec/VPN tunnels/
WINS/DNS/DHCP/VIPs/QoS/MPLS/RIP/EIGRP/OSPF/BGP/HSRP/GLBP

•  Experience with mainstream IT Technologies, such as products from Sun (Oracle and Solaris), IBM, Microsoft, Cisco technologies and products and Open Source products (Linux).

• Real Time systems such as Electric and Gas SCADA and infrastructure subject to regulation

• Advanced Metering Infrastructure environments

• 802.11, 802.15.4, Zigbee, EV-DO, Wimax, and mesh-radio

•  Network, server and desktop hardware and software technologies with remote access and wireless communications and technologies

• Strong project management skills

• MS Office Suite including Microsoft Project

• Working knowledge of the regulatory environment for utility companies including NERC CIP CISSP certification or other relevant security certifications a plus.
