Job Description

Our client is an industry leader in an emerging manufacturing technology. They have had double digit growth for several consecutive years and we are exclusively partnering with them on their Quality Manager opening in the Northern Detroit metro area.

We are seeking a Quality Manager who has previous experience being a leader overseeing the systems, processes, regulatory compliance, documentation, employees and projects of the quality department. This role offers a strong base salary, bonus, benefits, and relocation if needed for the right candidate.

Quality Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage the Quality department team of 8-15 which includes a QC Lab, Quality Engineers, a QA Supervisor, and others.
  • Oversee documentation related to the Quality department.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of all products.
  • Identify issues within the Quality department using root cause & statistical analysis.
  • Ensure products meet internal quality auditing standards as well as customer expectations.
  • Lead projects within the quality department including (Cost-of-Quality reduction, CAPA system, Audit systems, supplier quality programs) for all products and services.
  • Partner with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and other departments on projects or meetings related to product quality, capital projects, and product design, as well as participating in general company leadership meetings.
  • Oversee the training of all employees in regards to documentation and processes involving the Quality department.
  • Prepare or sign-off on all Quality department paperwork.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers as needed to resolve any issues.

Quality Manager Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, Quality Systems Management or another related field is required.
  • At least 10 or more years of experience in a Quality department with an organization that uses metals in their manufacturing process in an ISO regulated facility.
  • Previous managerial experience in required.
  • Previous experience with quality system audits, quality system management, design control processes, data management, and statistical sampling.
  • Previous experience using root cause analysis, FMEA, DMAIC, PDCA, and SPC.
  • ASQ certifications like CQM, CQE, or CQA are preferred.
