    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This person will work with the general ledger and is responsible for the books for the refining business segment. The position works as a team member with the finance and accounting staff in support of the accounting efforts worldwide.

    Essential Job Functions

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Reconciles numerous Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile bank activity and complete month end cash reconciliations
  • Monitor receivable balances and collection efforts, ensuring adequate reserves are recorded as necessary
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
  • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
  • Monitor and support taxation requirements
  • Prepare internal and external audit schedules
  • Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues
  • Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting 
  • Navision ERP experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, taxation, and full cycle G/L accounting 
  • Minimum of 2 years public accounting (strongly preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Must be flexible, self-starter, change-oriented, self-motivated team player
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Good communication skills

        Minimum of 2 years public accounting (preferred)
