Job Description


The Vice President of Global Supply Chain (VP-GSC) will have primary responsibility for the Development and Leadership of the Global Supplier/Material Management Network.  Additionally, the VP-GSC will provide Leadership for the Palmyra Headquarters site, including procurement, production, planning, logistics, and project management.  The VP-GSC will proactively develop the supply chain network in the US and internationally.


Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works with the internal business partners- Engineering, Sales, and Service to lead Global Procurement efforts to identify and qualify suppliers who can supply various locations with landed costs at lower cost and high quality. Develops support structure for global suppliers to ensure in-country quality remains as qualified during first article prior to export, i.e. India.
  • Manages and maintains global vendor relationships.
  • Negotiates pricing for all products and/or services ensuring terms and conditions are agreed upon that protect and are beneficial to the company.
  • Analyzes risks in material indexes and works to protect the company proactively from fluctuations in the global market. Develops strategy on price indexes to contain costs.
  • Analyzes risks in supply base, optimizing the regions and countries from which the company  obtains  material/components and works to protect the company proactively from  disruptions by  any suppliers.
  • Leads inventory management in various locations to ensure the company is serving its customer base, for control cash flow, and drives appropriate inventory levels and vendor managed inventory.
  • Works with Sales to identify forecasts for products to ensure customer satisfaction and to understand the appropriate reorder points as well as negotiation of supplier agreements.
  • Leads the Operations team to work directly with Sales, Product Managers, and Engineering,  to identify new lower cost solutions (i.e. redesign, design for cost, suppliers, quantity breaks for material, stocking needs, replenishment plans, etc.), to lower material costs to maintain competitive price advantage with the market and increase margin.
  • Manages Procurement, Production, Planning, Project Management, Quality, Safety, and Facilities staff; and measures staff performance. 
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout all of the Operational Groups.

*Travels domestically and internationally 50% of the year to visit existing vendors, qualify potential suppliers, and evaluate supply chain.


Education:  Bachelor Degree required; Business, Supply Chain Management, Material Management or equivalent, Engineering a plus. Master’s Degree or an MBA preferred.
15+ years of Leadership Experience in Global Supply Chain Management. 
Deep experience base in Global Supply Chain Development and Material Management (supplier, planning, logistics), and Management of Global Multiple Sites and operational teams.  
Ability to step in immediately to successfully source items through company’s vendor base as well as candidate’s existing contacts / vendors. International travel.
